Reflection
Impact on LearningThe use of visual schedules impacted students' learning in many ways. The students that participated in my study not only increased their level of independence but also increased their confidence throughout the day. Throughout this study I also noticed students had a better understanding of how to regulate their emotions. The stress of not knowing what is going to happen next impacts students' ability to access the general education curriculum. At the beginning of the study these students would cry, scream, hit, or even bite during a transition. The visual schedule allowed them to see what was going to happen next so they were able to decrease their stress level and better process the feelings they may be having, thus leading to more involvement in the curriculum.
